About the work

Dominic Manfredi was an artist, lauded by the New York Times as “highly imaginative” when he was only sixteen years old, but by the time he finished his education he had entered the field of set design. While he worked primarily on Broadway, he completed this work in Rome, likely for the 1959 production of Tosca at La Scala.
