About the work

Russian-American artist Ilya Bolotowsky was a prominent mid-Century geometric abstractionist who loved to explore angles within a square or round confines.

Of the dozens of Bolotowsky diamonds I have seen, I have only ever seen one other instance of two diamonds in the same work.  I have never seen Bolotowsky diamonds with a ghost image creating a part of the shape.

This work is from Bolotowsky’s Series 7.

Because of the challenge of capturing the white-on-white in photographs, please see multiple photographs showing the work in varying light.
