About the work

A striking abstract geometric screen print in shades of pink red, green and blue. Diamond Chroma has one green diamond centered with many green repeating geometric lines on a red background offset with light blue line pattern forming a triangle in each of the four corners. An attractive decorative screen print reminiscent to Josef Albers work under whom the artist studied.

This picture is professionally framed in an historically appropriate and important hand-made aluminum frame with forged, seamless corners custom-made by the famed frame maker and artist Robert Kulicke. (The dust panel covering the back has been opened up to show Kulicke’s frameshop label.) The original glass has been replaced with UV-protective glass and a sheet of buffered acid-free paper placed behind the work.

The New York Ten portfolio included works by Tom Wesselmann, Jim Dine, Helen Frankenthaler, Nicholas Krushenic, Robert Kulicke, Mon Levinson, Roy Lichtenstein, Claus Oldenberg, and George Segal.

Note that the light is raked against the image to accentuate the rippling; it is far less prominent in real life. Though this does not detract from the work, and indeed some collectors enjoy works that show their age, we have cut substantially because of it.
