This print, originally published in 1950, comes from a folio published by the Jerusalem Art Publishing Society in 1952. Though the folio states no limitation, it is a rare set.
Many dealers mistakenly believe that the works from this folio, entitled “Woodcuts”, are actually woodcuts. However, the folio justification sheet states that the works were printed by Ahva Press in Israel using plates made by M. Pikovsky Ltd., a zincographer. (Zincography was a printing process that used zinc plates instead of limestone.) Thus, the prints in the folio are in fact lithographs printed in black or brown ink and then colored by hand.
