Charles Hinman is famous for blurring the distinction between painting and sculpture. This work is of course two-dimensional, but he creates the impression of three-dimensionality through line and planes of solid black.
This silkscreen has an extraordinary luminosity and a rich, velvety look. It is a contemporary work, not even ten years old.
This work was printed in a very limited edition of six, preceded by two printer’s proofs and two artist’s proofs. This work is one of the two printer’s proofs.
