“Mark Twain” was commissioned by Delphan Co. for “Our Mark Twain”, the second volume of Tyrex’s The Image of America Series, published in 1960. This impression is an artist’s proof, which preceded the edition of 40, and was printed by Jim Lanier at the legendary Pratt Ad Lib Press.
This particular impression comes from the world-class Robert L. Pfannebecker Collection. Pfannebecker built one of the largest and most reputable collections of contemporary craft in the country.
This work is custom framed in a black-painted wood frame behind 99% UV-blocking Plexiglas with a hand-painted mat, using strictly conservation-grade materials.
