About the work

Jack Perlmutter’s dream-like image of a crowd gathered on a pier, inviting the obvious question: What brings these people there? This is a lithograph in two colors but it is embellished by what appears to be red pencil applied by hand. That color, too, is enigmatic. What is its purpose?
