Alex Garland wrote a story about a man, Carl, who defends a young girl who was being harassed by a group of men in the Underground. Carl is violently attacked, and falls into a coma. When he wakes, he discovers that his seemingly normal world is very peculiar. The story, titled The Coma, explores the boundary between the conscious and subconscious mind. Garland’s story is illustrated by his father, the famed printmaker Nicholas Garland. And this picture is one of 50 included in the first 50 copies of the special limited edition of The Coma. Beautifully printed on beautiful paper and custom framed in a solid Walnut frame using strictly conservation-grade materials behind 99% UV-blocking glazing.
