About the work
This print comes from a folio published by the Jerusalem Art Publishing Society in 1952.
Many dealers mistakenly believe that the works from the Woodcuts folio are actually woodcuts. However, the folio justification sheet states that the works were printed by Ahva Press in Israel using plates made by M. Pikovsky Ltd., a zincographer. (Zincography was a printing process that used zinc plates instead of limestone.) Thus, it seems that this work is a lithograph printed in black ink and then colored by hand.
