A vibrant collage of images showing the expansion of the United States by famed illustrator Arthur Szyk. This page was published by Kasimir Bileski, a prominent Canadian stamp dealer who later became famous in the philatelic world as the discoverer of Canada’s most famous stamp error, the “Seaway Inverted” and, indeed, is referred to as “one of the greatest stamp dealers in Canadian philatelic history”. It was printed by New York printer Herman Jaffe, whose work included printing works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as tiny poster-stamps and printing the stamps from the nation of Liberia. This picture was used as the frontispiece of a stamp album. It is now custom framed in solid black-stained Ash using strictly conservation-grade materials behind 99% UV-blocking art glass. A great find for a philatelist or a student of American history.
