About the work
This original etching shows the second gate, Porte d’Aude, to the walled Old City of Carcassone. This gate is the nearest gate to the “new” city of Carcassonne, situated a little more than 50 miles from the border with Spain and about 40 miles east of the Mediterranean coast.
Artist name not legible.
Note that the photos are clouded by glare on the glass; the image is sharper than appears in the photos.
