About the work
Richmond Burton spent years developing his Thought Plane series, in which he used black stripes to explore space, shape, and energy. The Thought Plane paintings were an homage to Frank Stella’s early canvases. They are structured, rhythmic, entrancing; small changes in arc and shape give the entire work energy and motion.
This work has been reframed in its original Maple frame, refurbished to ensure stability and beauty for years to come, and using strictly conservation-grade materials behind 99% UV-blocking Plexiglas.
