About the work

Printed by the artist, William Gropper, at the legendary Tamarind Lithography Workshop at its original Los Angeles location, assisted by master printer Maurice Sanchez. (In 1970, when the founding funding from the Ford Foundation had run out, Tamarind moved to the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, where it remains today.)

This lithograph was printed in a sequence of three colors (yellow-gray followed by blue-gray then red-brown).
