Susan Eder

Washingtonian Susan Eder makes art using photography, not as a journalist or as a documentarian but as a tool of creativity.  Primarily active in the last quarter of the Twentieth Century, she continues to work, create, and show her work.

A common motif in Eder’s work is the repetition and variation of common images.

Eder is currently represented by the Marsha Mateyka Gallery in Washington, DC, which also represents the Estate of Gene Davis.

She has had museum-based solo shows at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond and university-based solo shows at George Mason University, at Fontbonne College in St. Louis, at the College of St. Rose in Albany, at Bennington College, at Hampshire College, at Trinity College in Hartford.  She has also had solo shows at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and at the Marian Goodman Gallery in New York.  She has participated in dozens of group shows.
