This small wood engraving by Leonard Baskin is beautiful, evocative, powerful.  It is very small—the image itself is 4 inches by 3.75 inches—but its scale only enhances its beauty.

A copy of this work is held in the Collection of Lessing J. Rosenwald at the National Gallery of Art.

Edition:

Because he believed in making his work accessible, Baskin often left print runs open, particularly his small wood engravings like this one.  The authors of Baskin’s catalogue raisonné were unable to determine the number of impressions of this work.

Custom framed and matted in a fine silvered frame beind Tru Vue 99% UF-filtering glass.  All conservation and archival materials.

Condition:

Excellent condition, without damage or flaw; crisp and clear, well-inked, full margins.
