Fifty years ago, The New School for Social Research—now known simply as The New School—celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding. Founded as a home for academic freedom, intellectual inquiry, and progressive thought, it has remained a bastion of liberal and innovative thinking and social justice. The Parsons School of Design is part of The New School.
To commemorate the anniversary, the List Foster Fund commissioned Jack Youngerman to create a poster for the school. The front cover of The New School’s summer bulletin showed the design and invited readers to purchase the poster for $10.
This work is now an iconic Youngerman image, held in many important collections, including MOMA.
Please note that this is not the lithographic poster (which itself is rather scarce) nor the open edition silkscreen, but is instead the far more desirable limited edition.
Custom framed, with a strainer, behind 99% UV-blocking Plexiglass using strictly conservation-grade materials.
