About the work

This etching, showing a hand in the form of a Hamsa with a star in the palm, is among the most imaginative of Jacque Villon, whose work is celebrated but less well-known than that of his younger brother, Marcel Duchamps.

The work is accompanied by the cover sheet bearing the title, in an envelope mounted en verso.
